We build every driveway using a proven construction process to ensure lasting performance.
Topsoil and old surfacing are dug out — typically 200–300mm for a driveway — and taken away. Any soft or waterlogged ground is removed and replaced before anything is built on top.
Graded MOT Type 1 is laid in layers and whacker-plated until it's solid. This is the layer carrying your car — not the blocks on top — so we never cut it short.
Channel drains, soakaways and correct falls are set out before the surface goes down, so water runs away from the house and the build-up stays stable through wet Surrey winters.
Kerbs and edge restraints are haunched in concrete around the perimeter. Without them, the surface creeps sideways over time and the edges drop away.
Blocks, resin, tarmac or slabs are laid to line and level, cuts are made tight to edges and joints are filled properly — the part you see, done to match the part you don't.
The area is compacted, jointed, cleaned down and all waste removed. We walk the finished job with you before we leave site.

Farnham Driveways & Patios is a local driveway and paving company working across Farnham, Wrecclesham, Rowledge, Hale and the villages out towards Frensham and Elstead. The same people who quote your job are the ones on site building it, which is why we are straight about what a surface will and won't do on your particular frontage.
Most of our work is driveway installation in block paving, resin bound, tarmac and gravel, alongside patio and garden paving in porcelain and Indian sandstone. Whatever the surface, the groundwork underneath is specified in writing before we start: excavation depth, sub-base, edge restraint, falls and drainage.
